Diamonds Mapenzi Beach

The most amazing hotel and I'd recommend to anyone! All the staff are exceptional - so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much effort for them - from the reception, bar staff, beach cleaners, entertainers etc. The food was incredible - huge variety, fresh and delicious. The hotel was full, but it really didn't seem so, there were still plenty of loungers at the pool plenty of space in the dining room etc. One of the big plusses was the very tight security on the beach - we had no "beach boys" hassling us and could lie on our loungers in peace. We had beach front rooms and I would suggest that if funds allow, you upgrade to either superior or beach front as you're right on the beach.

The resort was absolutely beautiful, with plenty of areas to explore and relax. I stayed with my husband and son and we were joined by two of our friends. Things that stuck out to us in particular: 1. Hardly any mosquitoes and the staff regularly treat the rooms to prevent mosquitoes in the evenings/early dawn. Around the property throughout the day, we never saw any. Our son is allergic, so this was huge for us. 2. They didn't advertise this when we booked, but they do provide many activities for children throughout the day everyday. They don't have a play area specifically for children, but they do have a shallow children's pool. 3. Staff are always extremely helpful and engaging, and they were constantly doing special little things for the children (making hats, playing football, etc.) 4. I believe the spa/gym are all under construction as of summer 2025 (it looks like they are opening up a spa/gym area under the main pool and beside the two lower pools). But they have relocated both to temporary arrangements during the time. The gym is small but has a good few options to stay active during your stay. The "spa" is a converted room but the service was still fantastic and enjoyable. 5. Food was generally good and they had enough options to cater to various tastes. The quality was on par with most All-Inclusive resorts, although they are clearly (and rightly so) conscious of food waste, so the selection is less than what we typically see from resorts. Not a complaint at all, but just an observation. One night, they did an African Night on the beach and the food was truly amazing. I really wish they had more local/traditional options available every night, because we were all absolutely blown away. 6. Rooms had AC and were cleaned and stocked daily + turn down service every evening. We stayed in the beachfront villa and it was 100% worth the extra cost.

Everything!!! The food (breakfast, lunch & dinner) was exceptional! The staff were all super friendly. The resort is beautiful, clean, beds so comfortable with 2 x pillows p/person with different softness! There are 2 pools and 2 restaurants. The beach was always clean and we always felt welcomed & were looked after all the time 🩷 Nothing was a problem. Everybody was extremely accommodating. They offer lots of activities one of them ‘Reef walking’ which I recommend. There’s lots of activities for the kids as well which keeps them entertained. We really had a great stay at Mapenzi Beach Resort. Staff was always very kind, very authentic and open-hearted. Menu was very rich in variety and very delicious. Live barbecue every day, delicious pasta, salads and local food. We had a beach villa first row at the beach, which was beautiful. We made several trips, snorkeling, dolphins, reef tour and safari - which can easily be booked at the hotel (way more expensive) or at the very kind local sales people at the beach, which will arrange whatever you wish. We stayed in the beach villa which was perfect for us we had a toodler. You open your door and you on the beach. We loved the views and location of the villa. A special thank you to Chef Victor who went out of his way for us, always checking if we needed anything for our son and ourselves as we didn't eat certain foods. He was really great. Also a thank you to Yasser who also made sure we were taken care off during our stay. Beautiful resort and beach. The themed nights are great as they set up at different locations. Enjoyed every moment of our hoilday.
